In this class, Mrs Broadley is the class teacher. She works with Miss Dickens who is our teaching assistant. On this page, you can find out about the learning that takes place in the classroom. Our learning links to specific topics that are designed to be taught across a two term time period. You can use this page to find out more about the topics we focus on. This term we will be looking at 'Transport'.
History and Gegoraphy
Children will be learning about the different physical and human features of a location and the way that these features affect people's transport decisions. They will be investigating different UK and global destinations and the different modes of transport used both within these locations and how people may choose to reach them. Children will develop their map work skills this term using a range of mapping features to plot routes and journeys. Children will use both their time in school and on visits to explore transport of the past and how different modes of transport have changed and eveolved over time.
Children will learn about specific artists and create their own pieces of work inspried by these. Children will be focssing particulally on collage skills this term and artists that employ this technique. Children will be encouraged to reflect upon their own work and the work of others and suggest improvements. In Design Technology, children will be using a range of materials to create 3D models of transport.
PE and Health
During PE lessons, children will be learning and improving upon a range of core skills such as throwing, catching, balancing and running.Children will develop their understanding of a range of games and simple tactics and the importance of warming up and cooling down before and after exercise. Children will be expanding theiir knowledge of healthy eating and cooking this term. Please ensure PE kits are in school Monday to Friday.
Children will be taking part in a enterprise week this term with an exciting opportunity to meet local business people. Children will have the opportunity to develop their enterprise skills throughout the term focussing on risk taking, problem solving, team work and decision making.
